Ezio in-the-round + Pete Christie and Mike Last
Sun23April
After an absolutely stunning performance here in-the-round last November (their best show here by far, read reviews here and here). Ezio return once again to play in-the-round (on our second stage, surrounded by tables, chairs, candlelight, very very intimate..)

The Ezio sound is characterised mainly by its lyrical intensity: deftly written and well delivered vocals are the feature of the sound that first brought them to our attention, as the Crowded House/Countring Crows-esque melodies and memorable hooks blend with the lyrics to make a satisfying songwriting formaula.

However, the music is anything but formulaic, and the astonishing guitar work that underpins Ezio's music sets them apart from the two bands mentioned above, as they are delievered with a power and ferocity that you don't normally associate with acoustic guitars.

CHECK OUT SOME OF THEIR MUSIC NOW/!!!!Click Here for a live version of Angel Song It's a fairly large file (10mb) so probably only worth downloading if you have broadband.... but it's a full song and you will really enjoy it if you are patient. If the link doesn't work, try right-clicking and hitting 'Save Target As' to download the tune. It's worth it - we promise!

Pete Christie has played here in support of Glenn Tilbrook, Derrin Nauendorf and many others. Energetic and lively yet capable of delicate intimacy, Pete's music isn't easily pigeonholed... have a listen to this track and you'll begin to understand why he's so popular here: Waiting in the Wings

Mike Last has been involved in various musical projects including being a founding member of various groups including 'Don't Panic' and 'The Pedestrians' both of which had a strong cult following, playing a variety of venues across London and the South coast. More recently Mike has teamed up with songwriter Barnaby Dine and decided to take the job a bit more seriously. Mixing influences which range from Radiohead and Nick Harper to The Chilli Peppers and RATM, Mike confesses to sounding absolutely nothing like any of them. "I'm still trying to figure out which kind of music this is" says Mike. I really dig the schmultzy broken-hearted stuff like 'Seperate', 'All in good time', and 'bring it on'. But then theres some dark brooding in 'Said & Done', a bit of commercial pop in 'Wont let her Go' and hints of Punk in the aptly-named 'Punk'. So who knows what style it is. I've heard it descibed as Acoustic rock, so lets stick with that for the minute.

2006 has seen the debut of these catchy, melodic songs on the live stage, and we're reliably informed that the debut CD from this strangely unique and hard to describe vocal talent will be in the shops by the end of the month.
