CuRioSiTy Acoustic in-the-round Special featuring:
SixNationState
Adsono
Glowglobes
(click links above to visit their myspaces and listen to their music)

If you haven't been to one of our acoustic nights then you are in for a treat. The music may be acoustic but the vibe and atmosphere will be very electric, due to the room set-up: our second stage sits in the centre of the room so that the band are in the middle of the audience and in front of the PA speakers. Live big screen projections appear behind them, candles litter the tables and surfaces. We will of course be erecting the UV enhanced CuRioSiTy ceiling decorations too. All this adds up to a unique intimate setting...

SixNationState
We're delighted to be welcoming back this band! They have been touring for twelve months and return to perform an extra specially intimate acoustic session on our second stage in the round.

"Refreshingly chaotic. They sound like a mix of everything from Hendrix to Tex Mex, with the pace of Motorhead. Their infectiously upbeat sound immediately hit the crowd, who started dancing furiously to their electrifying tunes." - The Fly

"Arguably the most impressive debut of 2007" - gigwise.com album review

Here's a review from their appearance here in February:
"In SixNationState we clearly saw a band who have the complete package as far as 'indie' goes. Fast paced - think an English version of Kings Of Leon, add some Fratellis, a sprinkling of ska and more energy than... well, anyone. Born out of Southampton, this five-piece had the crowd in the palms of their hands from about twenty seconds in. Visually, frontman Gerry had a little bit of John Belushi/Jack Black about him, and from start to finish the whole band were totally watchable, furiously nodding their floppy fringes and throwing shapes left right and centre.

"Suited and booted the image was strong, and along with the frenetic dancing came some Shadows-esque guitar posturing. More importantly they had songs - extremely good ones - many with an appeal hinting at Madness. Each one seemed to have a strong hook, and there was enough variety of sound to never think you were hearing the same song twice. It didn't take long to get a large number skanking frenetically, a few were their own fans from along the coast, and after tonight they clearly had many, many more. An encore brought them back with a "dub reggae" track, they worked this crowd and won them over superbly. These SixNationState fellas have the ability to go just about anywhere. Big things surely await."
- TONY FOSTER BHone.co.uk

And check out this Dail Echo review from when they supported The Rumble Strips here in August and made a great impression!

Check out this excellent animated video:

And here is a recording of them taken by an audience member at Mr Kyps back in August when they supported The Rumble Strips. Sadly the sound quality isn't great but we've put it here so you can check out the energy of these guys! Quite how we'll keep them sitting down on our second stage is beyond us!

Adsono
After a two year hiatus the Bournemouth band that spent the summer of 2004 wowing the festival crowds is back! A tribal infused sound is created by this three piece who exude lashings of energy with their djembe driven beats and an extremely powerful vocalist.

"There is a band each year that takes the whole festival by surprise and this year it was Adsono."
- Tim Richardson, Larmer Tree Festival 2004.

"Original and inspiring." - Sallyforth Music, The Shortlist

Glowglobes
This boy-girl duo use vocal melody/harmony interplay to great effect and have an incredibly powerful stage presence/charisma, as this quote will testify:

"...it helps that they have a visual appeal which goes hand in hand with their music. They look perfect together, though their gypsy chic with a cello/bass hybrid and acoustic guitar would all be immaterial if it wasn't for the fact that Glowglobes write and sing such wonderfully alluring songs..." - BHone.co.uk

"A beguiling combination of voice, guitar and the unique cello-bass serve to create their distinctive bohemian-jazz sound. The Glowglobes demonstrate a sophisticated and thoughtful approach to song writing, and are wonderful to watch." - Larmer Tree Festival

Please visit the CuRioSiTy myspace to link to the bands' pages / websites and listen to their music online. We advise you to book early for this gig as it is likely to be pretty busy!
